The Studio
Cindy works from her home studio, as well as a studio/gallery at the Workhouse Arts Center in Northern Virginia, where she is a resident artist and instructor. Her studio practice is hands-on and process-driven, involving armature building, clay modeling, casting, and material exploration, with the intent to make sculpting more accessible and rewarding to interested creatives.
Professional Background
Prior to focusing full-time on her studio practice, Cindy served as COO of Grant Dawson Collections, a luxury home and decorative arts company represented in showrooms across the United States and internationally. Working closely with designers, retailers, and collectors, she gained extensive experience in craftsmanship, presentation, and the relationship between art and space. That background continues to inform her sculptural practice today, particularly in how her work is conceived, finished, and experienced.
Creative Tools
In addition to her sculptural practice, Cindy is the creator of InstaBones™, a poseable armature system developed through her own studio process. The system grew out of years of studying form, proportion, and movement, and reflects her interest in making sculptural structure more accessible to artists and students.
